The best overall ukulele stand we found is the Stagg SUV-A100BK – and it definitely has a cool name.

This ukulele stand is the best because:

  • It’s made out of steel, so you can expect it to last forever.
  • It’s very lightweight and safe.
  • The design folds flat to make it portable.
  • It has a safety mechanism that keeps it open even if you move it sideways.
  • The contact points of this design are covered with soft rubber to avoid scratching and damaging your ukulele.
  • The supporting arms can be folded to become handles, too.
  • It also has anti-slip ends on the bottom.

This is a near-perfect stand for ukuleles – you can even fit baritone ukuleles in it, which are the biggest of the family!

It’s a very sturdy ukulele stand that’s a one-time purchase that will last forever, like the cars of old.

We like that it’s easy to carry around and that it doesn’t bend backward a lot, so the ukuleles rest on it more upright and occupy less space.

Additionally, its price is amazingly low for such quality.

Still, we know why it’s so affordable, and that’s because of its only downside.

We believe Stagg is not hellbent on supervising quality control – some people have complained about the stands being a little crooked or unbalanced.

We can’t attest to this, because it didn’t happen to us, but it certainly made us doubt.

That doesn’t make it less of a bargain for us, though!

Pros – about this folding ukulele stand

  • Near-perfect stand for ukuleles of different sizes – even guitaleles fit it!
  • It’s very portable and lightweight too.
  • This ukulele stand is durable – we can’t fathom how anyone would break this accidentally.
  • Its price is very affordable!

Cons

  • Some people have complained that it came with issues – it didn’t happen to us, though.

Best Budget Ukulele Stand – LALAOKS Wooden

LALAOKS Wooden

  • ♫DESIGN-With thick anti-slip EVA padding on the contact surface to completely protect your valuable and lovely instruments from scratching and damaging.
  • ♫QUALITY-Made of high quality wood with thick anti-slip padding on the cradle.

This is a minimalistic wooden stand from an unknown brand – to us at least – that has garnered amazing reviews and support, so we decide to try it out.

We figured that, at this price, what’s to lose?

And we didn’t lose anything, this is a great stand.

Here are its features:

  • It’s made out of very sturdy wood and feels very durable – we didn’t test how good it stands against humidity though.
  • It’s made with good attention to detail and the “X” design does look good.
  • We like that it has a rubber band running all over the edges, so every part that touches the ukulele is soft.
  • You can detach the two parts and take it with you – it fits concert and tenor ukulele gig bags easily.
  • It’s easy to use.

This ukulele stand is very simple, but we actually love how it looks and works.

In this type of stand, the ukulele sits comfortably in the lower hook-like cradle, and against the back.

As you can see, that’s about it.

The only thing we didn’t like about it is that the ukulele has to lean back too much, which makes the ukulele – not the stand itself – occupy way too much space.

That makes it harder to place this stand on a table or shelf – especially if it’s against the wall because the headstock would be in contact with it if you push it back.

That’s a rather big downside, but if you don’t mind that, this is a great stand that’s easy on your wallet.

Pros – about this top stand

  • A great stand that’s easy to use.
  • Minimalistic design that’s highly portable – even more portable than the one above because you can fit it in a gig bag.
  • It holds ukes of up to tenor size.
  • It’s cheap and very durable, so perfect for beginners!

Cons

  • It makes the ukulele lean back too much and occupies too much space.

The runner-up stand comes from another unknown brand called Snigjat – we don’t think that’s pronounced as we do it.

This wooden ukulele stand is classy and looks great while showcasing your instruments, too.

Here are its features:

  • It’s a very sturdy ukulele stand made from Rosewood.
  • It’s incredibly durable and has good weight.
  • It is capable of holding even solid wood baritone ukuleles and solid body ukes, and even small guitars.
  • The “A” frame design is foldable too, so you can store it more easily – it’s not so portable when compared to the ones above though.
  • The color of the wood is beautiful, adding a nice touch to your ukulele collection or showcase.
  • It also has rubber feet, and the arms and back are covered with a soft cushion to avoid scratching your instrument.

This ukulele stand has a classic design that looks great wherever you place it.

We like that it’s heavier than the ones above because that also gives it more stability.

It has a safety lock that stops it from folding, which is great if it’s placed on the floor, where kids and pets play and walk around.

You can get it in different woods, but we liked the clear Rosewood because it goes nicely with most of our ukes.

It has no downsides, but we think the one at the top is slightly more durable.

Pros – about this top ukulele stand

  • Nice little wooden stand for ukes of different sizes.
  • This folding ukulele stand is incredibly sturdy and has good weight, which makes it one of the most stable stands you can get on this review.
  • It has a good safety lock, cushioning wherever the ukulele touches it, and anti-slip pads.
  • You can get the same ukulele stand made with different woods, and they’ll all have the same classy appearance that can complete your homemade ukulele exhibition.

Cons

  • No cons.

Best Portable Ukulele Stand – Hola! Music Portable

Hola! Music Portable
  • Don't miss the Video on the left for full description and specifications.
  • Fits various small stringed instruments like Ukulele, Violin etc.
  • Soft silicon cushion on all contact points and Non-slip silicon feet for extra stability.

This stand is slightly different from the ones above because its main purpose is to be portable and lightweight.

Still, this is an excellent ukulele stand for those who like to be ready to play anywhere, whenever it’s time to hit the road.

Here are its features:

  • It’s made with ABS plastic, which makes it incredibly portable and lightweight.
  • The design is foldable, and occupies little space – it easily fits any gig bag and hard case for ukulele.
  • Even though it is lightweight, this is a sturdy stand that’s capable of holding a tenor ukulele properly!
  • The contact points are made out of soft silicone, which cushions the instrument nicely, and avoids scratching it.
  • It also has silicone pads on the bottom to avoid wobbling or sliding.

What we like the most about this ukulele stand is that it’s the most portable on the list!

With that being said, its downsides are also clear to us.

This is a stand we’d only use for gigs, rehearsals, and maybe even outdoor gatherings – but it wouldn’t be our preferred choice to have at home. Why?

Because this foldable stand is a little wobbly and trips rather easily on smooth surfaces.

It also looks cheap, which eliminates it from the exhibition at home.

However, it’s still the best you can take on trips, on the subway, on the bus, or even while riding your bike because it fits gig bags comfortably.

Pros – about this stand for your ukulele

  • This is the most portable ukulele stand on the list – it can hold a tenor uke!
  • It’s easy to use and fits any gig bag or hard ukulele case.
  • This foldable stand has a nice design with silicon pads everywhere – your ukulele will be protected!
  • It’s very affordable too.

Cons

  • It looks cheap.
  • This foldable stand is a little wobbly on slippery floors

Hercules is a well-known brand that makes different types of ukulele accessories.

This tripod-type ukulele stand is significantly different from the others in terms of design and it’s convenient for many reasons.

  • The tripod is made out of metal, which gives it a slightly heavier frame than the ones above have.
  • It’s the most durable stand on the list!
  • This ukulele stand is fairly portable, too.
  • It also has a neck holder/support, which is amazing to keep the ukulele in place. We even tripped it while holding one of our cheap ukuleles to check if it stayed in place, and it did.
  • The neck has an auto-lock grip that helps keep the ukulele in place.
  • The neck clutch height is also adjustable with locking pins.
  • Ukuleles rest safely on the bottom front legs of the tripod, which are covered with soft rubber foam.
  • It also comes with anti-slip pads.

This is the one ukulele stand on this review that we’d pay even more to get – it’s just excellent quality!

We simply have no complaints about the quality and versatility of this stand.

You can even use it with small guitars!

Of course, it’s the priciest on the list, but that’s the whole point of this category.

Highly recommended!

Pros – about this stand for your ukulele

  • Excellent tripod-type ukulele stands from Hercules.
  • It’s easy to use, portable, and without a doubt the most durable stand on this list.
  • This model comes with adjustable neck clutch height, rubber pads in all contact points, and anti-sliding pads on the legs.
  • It can hold the heaviest of ukuleles and even small guitars!

Cons

  • It’s the priciest on the list.

This ukulele stand is also made by Hola! Music and offers nice quality.

Its major advantage is quite obvious – you can fit just about any guitar-like instrument in it, including ukes.

That’s great if you want an affordable option that can be used for your instrument collection, whether you have banjos ukuleles, Bass ukuleles, pineapple ukes, and more.

This ukulele stand is not as sturdy as the one above, but it is quite stable with most instruments.

The tripod design is good and reliable and even comes with a cradle to rest the instrument on.

It’s priced competitively when compared to the other stands on this list, too.

The height of the neck holder is also adjustable like in the design above.

Still, this design is more portable, easier to fold, and lighter as well, which makes it a slightly better portable option.

The only downside we found about it is that it’s not as stable as the ones above if you use it with heavy instruments – so no, you can’t place your electric guitar in it!

That’s about the only downside of this foldable stand.

It’s fully usable with ukes and most acoustic guitars – these won’t fall or turn the tripod unstable unless you put rocks inside!

Pros – about this stand for your ukulele

  • Good tripod type universal stand – use it with ukes, guitars, mandolins, violins, and more!
  • This foldable stand is easy to use and adjust and is very portable, lightweight, and easy to store.
  • It’s cheaper than the one above.

Cons

  • It’s less durable and lighter than the one above.
  • Its design is not as efficient and this foldable stand can fall forward if the instrument you place in it is too heavy – like electric guitars.

Frequently Asked Questions – Best Stands for your Ukulele

What is the best ukulele stand?

The best ukulele stands you can get are the Hercules and the Stagg – we just love them and recommend them the most because they’re the most advantageous.
They’re durable, portable, stable, and have the right safety measures to keep your ukulele safe!

What are the different types of ukulele stands?

In this guide, we reviewed three main types:
– “X” frame stands: these are shaped after an X and are usually comprised of two pieces of wood that clinch together to form the whole piece.
– “A” frame stands: these are shaped after the capital letter A. They usually lean back to keep the ukulele in place and use cradle-like arms to hold the ukulele.
– Tripod stands: they are the most recommended type of ukulele stands because they usually come with neck support, which keeps the ukulele in place safely. Some designs also have arms that support the uke for extra protection.

Can a guitar stand hold a ukulele?

Depends on the design. If they’re “X” or “A” frame type of stands, they might be able to hold a ukulele.
Still, tripod stands can’t properly hold ukes unless the height of the neck support is adjustable.

What’s the most important aspect of a ukulele stand?

Stability! If your ukulele stand is not stable enough and is equipped with anti-slip rubbers, it won’t be able to keep your instrument in place.
Also, it won’t protect your ukulele from accidental bumps if it’s not stable and sturdy enough.

Conclusion – Top Ukulele Stands

Finding the right ukulele stand is harder than you think – which is why we created this review to help you out.

You must take into account many things, like design, stability, weight, portability, price, materials, durability, and more.
